​HINGENEERING Consulting had been awarded for the site review services of the a new commercial/residential high rise in downtown Edmonton, Alberta.  The photos below shows the snap shots of the foundations rebars before the concrete.

Structural Reinforcement for Underground Parkade at 118 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta (October 2019)

HINGENEERING Consulting scope of services for an underground parking. Structural analysis and design of structural steel wide flanges, hollow steel sections were used for the reinforcement. The photos below shows the existing conditions before doing the structural repairs.

Structural Assessment of Gas Station in Spedden, Alberta (September 2019)

HINGENEERING Consulting had been invited by CLAIMS Pro to assess the structural damages, caused to the retail shop of FAS GAS station located in Spedden, Alberta. The main scope of this structural appraisal report is to assess the structural integrity of the affected building components at the gas station and provide the required the structural recommendations for rehabilitation.

HINGENEERING Consulting provided the structural engineering services for the steel framing supporting an arched roof panels roof system in Millet, Alberta. 

Engineering Design for 16 Duplexes in Castelgar, British Columbia (July 2020)

HINGENEERING Consulting carried out the structural  design for 16 duplexes units with five types in Castlegar River Estates in Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada. The structural design included the concrete foundations, timber tall wall design, etc.

Structural Inspection Services for ATCO Multipurpose Building in Maskwacis, Alberta (December 2018)

HINGENEERING Consulting had been hired by MBG Buildings to provide the structural inspection for the structural steel building owned by Ermineskin Cree Nation in Maskwacis, Alberta. Our role is to make sure that the design drawings prepared by Behlen are implemented in the construction site.

Structural Inspection Services for HAT@Five Corners High Rise in Downtown Edmonton, Alberta (March 2018 to May 2019)

HINGENEERING Consulting had been hired by Glotman Simpson Consulting Engineers based in Vancouver to provide the structural inspection for the day to day activities for the Hat@Five Corners newly high rise building located at 10215 95 Street, NW in Edmonton, Alberta. Our role is to make sure that the design drawings prepared by Glotman Simpson are implemented in the construction site. The general contractor is the Calgary based giant contractor Cidex Construction. It has been a long journey from the top side photo when the construction started in March 2018 and the bottom side photo which was taken early October 2018 at level 5 pouring. #design #planning #engineers #inspiration #structures

Structural Inspection for Commercial Property in Downtown Edmonton, Alberta 

HINGENEERING Consulting carried out the engineering inspection about the conditions of an existing commercial building. The property under investigation is located in downtown Edmonton, AB.
The existing commercial building was originally built in the 1950s. The purpose of this report was to provide an observation and structural assessment report on the physical condition and maintenance of the property and its improvements.


​HINGENEERING Consulting scope of services for this assessment included a site visit to the property with observations of the property and its improvements. The purpose of these observations was to assess the general structural physical and to recommend repair and operation and/or to be restored to a good condition if required.


HINGENEERING Consulting has prepared this Structural Property Condition Report, which includes pertinent information from the building present on the subject property.

Engineering Services for Medical Clinic in Millwoods, Edmonton, Alberta

HINGENEERING Consulting had been invited to provide electrical and mechanical engineering services for a medical clinic. The engineering drawing package includes the electrical design, HVAC and plumbing layouts as well as supply and drainage details. The Coordination with the owners and the contractor was accomplished. The area of the clinic is approximately 2800 square feet.

Structural Assessment for Mezzanine Floor in Commercial Space in Nisku, Alberta 

HINGENEERING Consulting had been invited by SPIRIT Global Energy Solutions Inc. (SPIRIT) to assess the structural conditions for an existing commercial space. The total area of the commercial space (Bay # 3) is four thousand square feet. The main scope of this report is to assess the structural condition of the office space in particular the main floor and the mezzanine floor of the office side of the warehouse.

Engineering Design Drawings for Renovation of Commercial Space, Edmonton, Alberta

HINGENEERING Consulting carried out the structural, HVAC and electrical engineering services for an existing commercial property at the west side of Edmonton, Alberta. 

 

The proposed scope of work included the Structural, HVAC and electrical renovation recommendations and drawings for the damaged portion of the south west part of the site plan, representing the existing industrial building.

 

The scope also includes the structural drawings required for the new portion, which comprises roof plan, column and foundation layouts.

Ford Northstar Building - Fort McMurray, AB

Reviewed the structural configuration of the aluminum framing on the second floor of the building. The purpose of this calculation was to verify the adequacy of the aluminum cross-sections used in the horizontal and vertical mullions to resist the gravity and wind loading in addition to satisfying the deflection requirements. The review was extended to include the strengths of the screw fasteners connecting the vertical mullions to the structure.

Structural design for custom-designed steel clamps and rigging equipment for lifting of precast panels. In addition, we were responsible for the following:

  • Structural analysis and design for steel clamps to carry the precast concrete panel

  • Identify the number of designed steel clamps, beam clamps, master links, chain slings, etc. to each concrete panel length

  • Check the rigging tools available to attach it to the design clamp

  • Liaised with the construction contractor to facilitate the fabrication and material handling concerns

Skylight for PCL Building - Edmonton, AB

The main scope is to verify the adequacy of the aluminum cross-sections used in the head purlin and the transverse rafters. Moreover, the review is extended to cover the strengths of the fasteners connecting the sky light with the concrete wall (apex) and the concrete curb (base).

Structural Engineering Assessment for NorthWest Wall of Commercial property in Edmonton, AB

The project entails the structural analysis and design of the existing timber framing, which constitutes the North West half of the third floor level of the existing commercial property. Hingeneering Consulting recommended the wall framing strengthening. The structural assessment illustrated the addition of timber sections in the form of elevation wall framing ).

Edge Water Condo Tower at Jasper Avenue in Edmonton

The project entails the structural analysis and design of elevator beam connections against the elevator rail roads for six levels.
The structural review was carried out to assess the proposed solution by Pagnotta Industries for the bolted and welded connections for the lower level floors, where the plates were installed above the concrete shaft surface. The bolted connection is between the steel beam and the angles, while the welded connection is between the end plate and the two angles. Finally, the design review included the strength of the steel studs installed in the concrete shafts using epoxy against shear, pull-out and bending stresses due to the rail loads.

Construction Engineering for Connecting Elevator Hoist to Edmonton Arena

The project entails the structural analysis and design of safe connections of the elevator hoist to the main steel structure of the Edmonton Arena to facilitate the construction. This includes

  1. Analysis and design of various Tie-in horizontal and diagonal braces from the elevator mast to the main structure.

  2. Design of the anchoring system between the Tie-in braces to the the main structure to withstand the acting wind loads.

  3. Provide structural recommendation to connect the Elevator hoist to the roof of the Arena.

  4. Act as the structural consultant for the elevator hoist supplier to the Arena main contractor (PCL).

Structural Engineering Study and Design basis for Upgrades of Industrial property - Edmonton, AB

The project entails the following structural engineering services:

  1. Widening of two bays in the east side of the warehouse by 2’ to accommodate the building code requirement. The consequence of this renovation results in providing various reasonable scenarios of  structural system and load distribution, which required structural analysis and design of the east wall panels as well as the columns and checking the pile capacity and to recommend any structural strengthening members as well as foundations if required in the detail engineering phase.

  2. The available options for the new foundations of the truck scale foundations in the North West part of the ware house.

  3. Providing the structural system of new offloading unit in the northwest portion of the building.

  4. Assessment and strengthening (if required) for the existing slab on grade of the ware house to carry the expected truck weights running through the building.

  5. Providing foundations supports for eight storage tanks based on the soil conditions, which will be inside the building in the northwest part.
